Helga Liné was born in Berlin. Liné began her career as a circus dancer and acrobat in Portugal. Her first film debut was in “PORTO DE ABRIGO” (1941), directed by Adolfo Coelho. In 1946, she had a role in the Spanish-Portuguese co-production “LA MANTILLA DE BEATRIZ”. At the beginning of 1950, she shot with Fernando Fernán Gómez, Jorge Mistral and Antonio Casal in “LA TRINCA DEL AIRE” (1951), that same year she participated in “EL GRAN GALEOTO” (1951) and, a year later, she co-starred “NAZARÉ” (1952) with Virgilio Teixeira.
In the 60’s, she acted in “LOS CORSARIOS DEL CARIBE” (1961), was the stepmother of Rocío Durcal in “CANCIÓN DE JUVENTUD” (1962) and returned to coincide with her in “ROCÍO DE LA MANCHA” (1963). She was one of the protagonists of “HORROR” (1963) and took part in “EL TRIUNFO DE LOS DIEZ GLADIADORES” (1964) with Dan Vadis and, also with him in, “LOS INVENCIBLES” (1964).
One of the most relevant films of her in those years is the horror film “AMANTES DE ULTRATUMBA” (1965).
In the 1970s, he appeared in various comic films such as “HAY QUE EDUCAR A PAPÁ” (1970), “SI FULANO FUESE MENGANO” (1971), “LOS NOVIOS DE MI MUJER” (1972), “LAS CORRERÍAS DEL VIZCONDE ARNAU” (1974), “UN LUJO A SU ALCANCE” (1975), “HASTA QUE EL MATRIMONIO NOS SEPARE” (1976) y “CUENTOS DE LAS SÁBANAS BLANCAS” (1977).
The most popular films internationally were the horror films with “PÁNICO EN EL TRANSIBERIANO” (1972), “ESPANTO SURGE DE LA TOMBA” (1973), “LAS GARRAS DE LORELEI” (1974), “LA VENGANZA DE LA MOMIA” (1975) or ” EL ASESINO DE MUÑECAS” (1975). She also acted in several westerns including “UN DÓLAR PARA SARTANA” (1971) or “LOS CUATRO DE FORT APACHE” (1973). Also in dramas such as ” NO ES BUENO QUE EL HOMBRE ESTÉ SOLO” (1972) or “LA BODA DEL SEÑOR CURA” (1979).
In the 80’s, she participated as Javi’s mother (Juanjo Artero) in the TV series “VERANO AZUL” and as for the films, she collaborated with Pedro Almodóvar in “LABERINTO DE PASIONES” (1982) and “LA LEY DEL DESEO” (1987).
Her last appearance was in “TORRENTE 3: EL PRODUCTOR” (2005) and, in 2018, she was awarded the Nosferatu Prize at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival.
