Tilda Swinton is a British actress and model. She worked at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the mid-1980s.
In her first films, she starred in “ORLANDO” (1992). Shortly after, in 1995, she participated in a performance by the artist Cornelia Parker, she was “asleep” for a week inside a glass box. At the end of the 90’s, she participated in “LOVE IS THE DEVIL” (1998).
Swinton has acted in several blockbuster films such as “THE DEEP END” (2001) being the lead, also appeared in “CONSTANTINE” (2005) and as a supporting actress in “VANILLA SKY” (2001), “LA PLAYA” (1999) and “SNOWPIERCER” (2013), in addition to several films from the Marvel Universe such as “DOCTOR STRANGE” (2016) and “AVENGERS: END GAME” (2019). She also worked in another saga, “THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA” as the White Witch, taking part in all three films.
She has been nominated for a Golden Globe in 2001, 2007 and 2011. In 2007 she won the BAFTA and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “MICHAEL CLAYTON” (2007). Finally, in 2020 she received The Golden Lion for her career at the Venice International Film Festival.
